Billy Currington – People Are Crazy

When you are a beginning guitarist you need to know the basic open chords of the six-string guitar. People Are Crazy from country singer Billy Currington is a prime example of why. When you see the Chords to People Are Crazy you will notice that they are C – G – Am – F , but when you play it on your guitar you notice it does not sound right, that is because he is using a Capo on the 5th fret, this is a common trick among acoustic guitarists, that allows you to play the most common open chords all the way down the fretboard without having to worry about using barre chords.

Sliding Minor Pentatonic Scale

The Minor Pentatonic Scale is the most played in rock music. It has it’s roots in Blues, and some may call it the blues scale. Pentatonic is based on the   (5) root notes of the minor scale. Below is the scale in G – even though it starts on the F note – this is the minor scale and can be started anywhere on the guitar, starting on the top E string and sliding down to the bottom E. This scale can be moved to whatever fret you need the key to be. So for the Key of A start on the third fret – for the Key of D start on the eighth fret and so on and so on…….
